Flora’s Spell - that’s a wrap!

Poster Flora's Spell.jpg

Working amongst a community of artists is the only life for me.  It is the life that I cling to and without a doubt am undeniably drawn to.  I am attracted to artists like a horse is to water.  One does not experience the support and camaraderie in the business world like that of an artist’s community.  I remember starting my first professional job as a Publicist (somewhat of an artsy job) and hugging other professionals after our business meetings.  I was sooo awkward and quickly learned that in the business world, it is quite different.

I was born an artist; it is the only life I have ever known.  Everything I see in life is “beautiful”—even sad moments.  I guess this is why I am oftentimes misunderstood.  My energy darts all around and confuses people.  “Why is she so happy?” they wonder?  My energy is art.  My energy is joy and gratitude.  My energy is simple: to create, to express, to share, to live out loud, and to choose happiness.  Living in this moment with drive and big ideas makes me feel like the young hungry artist I once was.  It is good to stay hungry.

We wrapped on “Flora’s Spell.”  Please read these beautiful messages shared by Cast & Crew. These messages are why the artists life is the only life for me.

We are so incredibly grateful to have been part of this magical story. It was a joy to work with such an incredible and talented cast and crew. Emerson did not want it to end. I think there may be ballet lessons in our future. Much love, Aimee and Emerson

I want to express my gratitude to the cast/crew and all the parents. Some of the things I find challenging working with young talent on set is preparation and parental communication. I must say that I did not see any of that on this production. So thank you parents. To the talented actors, you were all a joy to work with and I appreciate your professionalism. Every single one of you worked extremely hard by owning your characters. I gave much praise to main actors the last days on set, but lacked a little bit with the compliments for all the dancers who helped create this magical piece. Your hard work did not go unnoticed. Moving forward, continue to work on your craft by taking acting classes, doing community theatre, or taking dance classes if it became something of high interest. And Lynne let’s make it happen. I’ve been waiting to direct on stage again ;=) Michelle, thank you so much again for trusting me with this beautiful story! I wish you all the best in your future endeavors. Keep in touch. One Artisan, Bianca Siplin
Completely reflect the same as everyone else by stating how phenomenal this experience has been for all of us! Sets don’t always run smoothly, but each day with you guys seemed pretty darn seamless. Love meeting so many talented new faces in the industry too. New Orleans is such a tight-knit community and you found some of the best! Grateful Nadia, Brian and I could join the team. Best wishes during post! Amy Eiler
Thank you, Michelle! I LOVED your set energy and honestly would LOVE to stay in contact about future projects. As I said I loved the set mom vibes and could use that producer mentality for sure! Thank you, excited to see the finished product. Until then, Jourdan Bazley
I’m so proud of all your hard work. The creative team was amazing to watch in action. And of course, the talented cast was just perfection. I love all the period pictures! Can’t wait to see the finished product!!!!! I’m so grateful that Meredith and I were able to be a part of this awesome adventure! Lots of love! Thank you again! Kristy
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all of you as well. It was a wonderful experience. Michelle, everything was so well organized and managed. You and your team were absolute professionals. Thank you for entrusting Rhian with Flora’s character. She enjoyed every minute of it and worked hard to bring Flora’s character and story to life. Bianca, thank you for your encouragement and patience with Rhian. You and your crew were amazing. Rhian felt completely supported and inspired throughout the process. Hoping for all the best! Regards, Keith L. Winfrey

Reading this thread of gratitude this morning has been so refreshing. I would also like to express my gratitude to all of you for such an amazing week shooting this project. It was so fulfilling to be making art in New Orleans again! Thank you to Michelle and Bianca for trusting me with this character and for giving me the space and opportunity to step into challenging role. This was a tough one for me, but as they say - growth is always uncomfortable! Thank you for your kindness and grace. Thank you to Spencer, Jared, Gabby, Betsy, and the whole crew for being so kind and for the continued education in filmmaking. Every new shot was a learning experience. It was so captivating watching you work, and I hope we’ll see each other on another set soon!
Thank you to Lynne for the ballet classes this week! It was so lovely seeing you again. Hoping we’ll be back doing this theatre thing again sometime soon! And lastly thank you to the rest of the cast. Y’all are rockstars and I can’t wait to see where your careers take you. Best of luck to everyone. :) - Love & Gratitude, EF
